What is PEMF?

Pulsed electromagnetic frequency (PEMF), while its use is not as widespread as other holistic treatments, it’s not the newest kid on the block with origins dating back to 2000 BC when people used magnetic stones to treat their ailments.

How does PEMF work?

PEMF promotes cellular activity that can help with tissue healing.

PEMF therapy uses a machine that creates a pulsed electromagnetic wave from a coil/applicator on the machine. The wave then passes through the tissue of the body and engages the cells, causing cellular activity that can affect the body’s tissues.

A study was done by NASA and showed a 400% increase in stem-cell activity after the use of PEMF.

Stems cells develop into many types of specialized cells that regenerate and repair damaged or diseased tissues within the body.

Is it for me?

We could talk to you about PEMF until our faces turned blue, but ultimately we decided it was more important to show what other experts are saying about PEMF.

Renowned fitness guru and New York Times bestselling author Ben Greenfield commented on PEMF in his book Boundless.

Greenfield commented that “When a cell’s voltage is low, oxygen departs the cell, which lowers ATP production. PEMF increases circulation, thus providing more oxygen to the cell. PEMF also increases cell voltage, which raises pH and enables more oxygen to be dissolved within the cell for mitochondrial respiration. In this way, PEMF increases mitochondrial respiratory activity, resulting in the more efficient production of ATP by the cell’s mitochondria. PEMF also increases the number of mitochondria, allowing for even more energy output from a greater number of more efficient mitochondria enabling each cell to accelerate recovery and perform its normal functions better. This leads to faster recovery, better resilience, and enhanced performance.”

Why should I use PEMF?

PEMF can help with many different conditions, including:

  • Arthritis
  • Chronic pain
  • Osteoporosis
  • Nerve pain/neuropathy
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Tendinopathy
  • Sprain/strain
  • Concussion
  • Whiplash
  • Muscle spasms

If you’ve looked at other treatments but haven’t had the desired effect; PEMF could be what your body needs.
